Exit Trance presents Famitrance EX
Release Date: 11/4/09
Price: 1905 yen

GASP! Can it be? Quake are finally doing a VGM trance? The title is a portmanteau of “Famicom” (itself a combination of “Family” + “Computer”) and “Trance.” The EX is just there to make it sound more extreme. The album will consist of trance versions of popular Famicom themes, with songs from Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest already confirmed. I imagine Super Mario Bros. and Zelda will also be well represented.

Tokusatsu 3Exit Trance presents Tokusatsu Trance 3 Gouki (Unit 3)
Release Date: 9/16/09
Price: 1905 yen

Once again, the list is dominated by Super Sentai and Kamen Rider themes. “Midnight Dekaranger” is a fantastic big band song that has insanely catchy lyrics, so I’m certainly looking forward to that one.

I’ll die happy if they ever do the Power Rangers theme. Make it happen, Quake!

CM 4Exit Trance presents CM Covers 4
Release Date: 9/16/09
Price: 1905 yen

“Glamorous Sky” is the latest Ouendan song to get an Exit Trance remix! I’m also looking forward to hearing how Joe Hisaishi’s “Oriental Wind” translates to trance. I’m not familiar with most of the other songs, though I’m assuming “Butterfly” won’t be the Smile.dk song.

Itasha 2Exit Trance × Ita G presents Itasha Trance 2
Release Date: 9/16/09
Price: 1905 yen

Not a single new track on this latest repackaging of SATB songs. The cover doesn’t mention Ita G (short for Itasha Graphics magazine), so it’s possible they’re not involved with this release.

Ghibli*ComputerGhibli*Computer
Artist: Bitman
Release Date: 10/2/09
Price: 1810 yen

Yet another Ghibli-themed release. Instead of pianos or speed trance, this release will remake classic Ghibli themes in a chiptune (i.e. 8-bit/Famicom) style. Chiptune music has been gaining a lot of traction recently, so don’t be surprised if you see many more 8-bit compilations in the near future.

Feel the Waves -Ibiza-
Artist: Jewel
Release Date: 10/21/09
Price: 1905 yen

No, it’s not that Jewel (I think). I couldn’t find much info on the artist, so who knows what this album will sound like. All I know is that it’s from Quake and it’s being labeled as a dance album.

WWW.Blonde Girl (United Forces Remixes)
Release Date: 9/09
Price: 2.97 Euro

This comes as a surprise. United Foces are composed of Dick Örnå, Jamie Thompson, and Dave Phaneuf, and most recently did a reworking of Smile.dk’s “Butterfly.” Well, the team are back together again to remix a Dancemania classic, Jenny Rom’s “WWW.Blond Girl.” No idea what the remix sounds like, but the group did a great job on “Butterfly” so I’m looking forward to these remixes.

01. [3:36] WWW.Blonde Girl (United Forces Radio Edit)
02. [5:24] WWW.Blonde Girl (United Forces Extended Remix)
03. [5:12] WWW.Blonde Girl (United Forces Speedy Mix)

The remixes should be available on Saifam’s site as well as Juno Download soon.

Exit Tunes presents Elektribe

Yet another electro series from Quake. I don’t know why they didn’t just do a Tecktonik 2 or Working BGM Electro House 3.

Wa Euro BestNatsu Monogatari presents Wa Euro Best
Release Date: 8/5/09
Price: 1886 yen

Yes, another Wa Euro Best post. Dancemania releases are so rare now that I can’t help but cover every single aspect of each release. 😉

Anyway, Densetsu13 previously mentioned in the comments that a video crew was present at the 9LoveJ release party, and now we know why. Someone has posted new promotional videos on YouTube (and Nico Video) with footage from the event. I’m still not entirely clear on when and where the videos are airing in Japan, or how Bulgarian user kkakbkb got a hold of them, but in any case it’s nice to see even more promotional push from EMI.

Videos 3 and 4 prominently feature gaijin which, again, I find ironic considering the album theme.

CJ Crew are back!
icon1 DanceMaster | icon2 Dance, Dancemania | icon4 09 5th, 2009| icon39 Comments »

CJ Crew featured prominently on the Dancemania Speed series, but are probably best known for their DDR appearances with the songs “Rhythm & Police” and “Ninzaburo (Furuhata’s Theme).” I recently contacted Chris Bucknall, who made up the ‘C’ half of CJ Crew, and asked him a few questions, the answers to which will be published soon in an in-depth feature on CJ Crew.

In the meantime, Chris has mentioned that he’s interested in working on new “Speed” tracks, but is looking for suggestions on what to cover. This is where you guys come in. What songs do you want to hear covered?
