A digital only best-of release compiling the best songs from the Anime*Dance series. 1200 yen for full versions of 19 tracks isn’t a bad deal. The album only seems to be available at iTunes.
I’m assuming this will be part of the main series and not another offshoot release. The first-press limited edition will come housed in a digipak case and will include a discount ticket for entry at a House Nation part. The regular edition has neither. Both versions will be the same price, however, so you might as well get the limited edition.
Still not much info on Jewel or what the album will sound like. Since Standard Club will be collaborating with Jewel on a Cascada remix, I’m gonna guess he/she/they have a house sound.
Even more trance covers of bishoujo game themes. Again, no Ryu*.
I can’t say I recognize any of the songs except for “Kimi o Nosete,” whose inclusion is pretty baffling. When I think of bishoujo games I don’t exactly think of Ghibli.
Quake posted an updated list for SATB 8. In addition to N.O.-SYO’s SATB debut, Ryu* will also be making his return to Exit Trance with an original song. Note that this is still not the final track list; there are at least 3 tracks left to be revealed.
Ghibli*Computer
Artist: Bitman
Release Date: 10/2/09
Price: 1810 yen
Yet another Ghibli-themed release. Instead of pianos or speed trance, this release will remake classic Ghibli themes in a chiptune (i.e. 8-bit/Famicom) style. Chiptune music has been gaining a lot of traction recently, so don’t be surprised if you see many more 8-bit compilations in the near future.
Wow, is it really going to be 8 months between Exit Trance Best releases? Not that it’s been a huge loss, seeing as the series has been nothing but repeats for a while now. The 10th release is being given the subtitle “Premium Best,” though apparently it’s still only one disc. Songs will supposedly be picked from out of the 122 albums and 2400 songs in the Exit Tunes/Trance series, but realistically they’ll probably just choose from the albums released since Best #9.
I’m not sure if it’ll still be promoted as “Natsu Monogatari presents” since it won’t actually be released during the summer. ^^; In any case, the success of Wa Euro Best — over 50,000 copies sold — means we’ll be getting a sequel in less than 5 months. And unlike the first Wa Euro Best, this one will mostly be new tracks; the early list only has 4 repeats!
In addition to the usual anime tracks, there’ll also be a number of classic J-Pop covers. I’m most excited by “Hana.” It’s a lovely song, so I can’t wait to see how it’ll translate to eurobeat. And out of all of Akiba Koubou’s vocalists, I think Shihori is the only one who could pull it off.
Yet another Hatsune Miku album from Quake. This one will feature songs produced by Lamaze P, who have already contributed a couple of songs to other Exit Tunes releases. Trading cards will be enclosed, and if you send in the included questionnaire you’ll receive a clear file that features the album artwork.
Super Euro Freak Vol. 2
Release Date: 10/09
Price: ???
Spotted this on the Eurobeat Prime forums earlier. It’s a compilation from Akyr that inclues full versions of their tracks from Natsu Monogatari 2009. Newfield mentions that it’ll be available on iTunes in various regions. It’s not up yet, but keep your eyes peeled for it in the near future.
In somewhat related news, Wa Euro Best is set to surpass the milestone of 50,000 units sold this week.
Another Hatsune Miku album from Quake following their successful Dead Ball P release. This one will feature songs produced by azuma, who is best known for “Anata no Utahime.” Trading cards will be enclosed, and if you send in the included questionnaire you’ll receive a clear file that features the album artwork.
