Track lengths have been announced and it looks like most of the tracks got healthy edits. The Lil’B song gets the distinction of being the longest track on the album, though Tsukasa’s “Shin Ai” isn’t far behind. Some songs got the short end of the stick, however. While I’m happy that I’ll only have to endure ~2 minutes of “Santa Maria,” the new remix of “Coconut” is the shortest track on the CD, coming in at a paltry 1:22. Hopefully EMI will release a Download Selection so we can hear full versions of these songs.

It’s still unknown who’ll be doing the “Hime” remixes of “Boy” and “Coconut.” However, Shohei Matsutmoto has been confirmed as the producer of the Gavin and ari tracks. Also, making his Hime Trance debut is the one and only king of Rock-Trance, N.O.-SYO!!! He’s collaborated with Kei for the original song, “Somebody’s Voice.” I know Kei has been itching to sing another original song for a while now, so it’s great to see her get her wish.

House Flavor R&B is one of FARM’s more successful brands and is especially popular on iTunes. If you can’t figure it out from the title, the series focuses on R&B covers with a touch of house. In the past, FARM have licensed tracks from Saifam for this series, but lately they’ve been relying more on Japanese producers.

The Captain Jack website has been updated with more details on the upcoming album, formerly known as Rewind to the 90’s.

2010 we celebrate Captain Jack’s 15th anniversary. The new album “Back to the Dancefloor” will contain DJ remixes of the greatest hits as well as new compositions in the 90’s style. It will be released in 2010 with a videoclip and a huge promotional campaign.

Also featured is a live medley of some of Captain Jack’s most popular songs. I’m really loving the new remixes of “Drill Instructor” and “Captain Jack.”

An updated track list has been revealed for Anime Nitro 2. Punk Dirty Channel are back, but the producers of the other tracks aren’t yet known. The list looks pretty solid so far, avoiding the usual anime standards (“Aquarion,” “Zankoku,”). Okay, it does have “Tamashii no Refrain,” but most of the other tracks aren’t too overplayed.

2 Unlimited are back! Okay, due to copyright reasons they’re no longer allowed to use that name, but Ray Slijngaard & Anita Doth have reformed under the name Ray & Anita. Their first single, “In Da Name of Love,” just came out on iTunes Netherlands and is set for a CD single release later this month.

I was hoping they’d come back with a proper techno track, and while I’m not usually a big fan of electro-house, I do like this song quite a bit. Yeah, the bassline is ripped straight from David Guetta’s “Love Is Gone,” but the chorus is infectious. There are rumors that there’ll be more traditional dance remixes on the single, so keep an eye out for those.

A new collection of anime theme covers from the makers of P-Trance. It appears to be a digital only release. And yes, it has “Zankoku na Tenshi no These.”

This psychedelic compilation from FARM came out last month. It’s almost all repeats, but I have to admit the list has some of my favorite psyche tracks. The Texas Boys vs. Akai mix of “He’s a Pirate” in particular is psychedelic swashbuckling fun. I’m also quite fond of Sesto Sento’s “Lift Me Up.”
