Anime Euro Best ~School Edition~
Release Date: 5/12/10
Price: 2284 yen
Super Anime Remix lives on! Well, sort of. Dreamusic will be releasing a new compilation this May with eurobeat covers of anime themes. “School Edition” refers to the fact that the songs will be taken from anime set in schools. I’m not sure why Dreamusic decided to abandon the “Super Anime Remix” brand in favor of “Anime Euro Best,” though I suspect it’s to make it clearer that the genre is eurobeat. It doesn’t hurt that the new title is more similar to EMI’s popular “Wa Euro Best” series. And yeah, the songs will once again be produced by Akiba Koubou.
Anime House Project ~Shinkyoku Buchiage mix zero~
Release Date: 4/28/10
Price: 1905 yen
Buchiage remixes of songs from AHP Shinkyoku Selections 1 and 2. I’m not entirely sure what the “Buchiage” sound is.
Anime House Project ~Shinkyoku Selection~ Vol. 3
Release Date: 4/28/10
Price: 1905 yen
It’s been a few months since the last AHP release, but the series returns late April with this third release in the main series. Pretty interesting track list so far. Most of the tracks haven’t been too overused, with the possible exceptions of “Moonlight Densetsu” and “Joint.” Of course, those two songs are awesome, so we’ll let them slide.
Note that the listed artists are the original performers. The cover artists are not yet known.
House Nation Digital – Vol. 4 Trance Gig
Release Date: 3/10/10
Price: 1800 yen
House remixes of popular (i.e., overplayed) trance songs. In addition to 11 full-length songs, if you buy the whole album you’ll also get a non-stop mix and a digital booklet.
House Nation 3rd Anniversary
Release Date: 4/7/10
Price: 2427 yen
The latest entry in the main series celebrates the 3rd anniversary of House Nation.
Electro Flavor R&B
Release Date: 4/7/10
Price: 2095 yen
FARM have already done House Flavor R&B and Reggae Flavor R&B, so why not add some delicious Electro flavor? The track list actually looks very intriguing. Hopefully this means a Trance Flavor R&B is next. *crosses fingers*
The Best of Cover Ne-Ho 2
Artist: Ne-Ho
Release Date: 4/7/10
Price: 1886 yen
The first Cover Ne-Ho release sold pretty well for FARM, so it’s not surprise that they’re releasing a sequel. At least Sousei and Zankoku are already out of the way, so he can take on some slightly less overused songs.
House Flavor R&B ~Original Best Mix~
Release Date: 4/28/10
Price: 1900 yen
More house-flavored R&B from FARM Records.
Mega Trance 11
Release Date: 4/28/10
Price: 2190 yen
Mega Trance lives!! It’s been almost a year since Mega Trance 10 came out, but FARM are finally bringing back the long-running series. Highlights include a new version of Heavens Wire’s “The End of Summer,” this time featuring DJ Joker. I’m also excited about a pair of R&B trance remixes, including an Overhead Champion remix of “I Gotta Feeling” as well as a Delaction remix of “Fire Burning.” Other artists include DJ Tora, DJ Ozawa, DJ Uto, and Los Hermanos.
The early list is looking very promising. I just hope they don’t ruin it all by adding tons of electro.
Scatman (Pipappaparappoppippo) (Single)
Artist: Mark ‘Oh feat. Scatman John
Release Date: 4/21/10
Price: 571 yen
Five new Japanese remixes will be included on this maxi single, with Lamaze P, Ryu*, DJ Uto, Starving Trancer, and Hommarju each taking on the eurodance classic. Not a bad price for 6 songs.
Life Size Note -40mP-
Artist: 40mP
Release Date: 5/7/10
Price: 1905 yen
First major release from Vocaloid producer, 40mP, who is most famous for “Kimi Boshi.” The title has been changed from “Exit Tunes presents The Complete Best of 40mP” and the track list has been updated.
Exit Tunes presents Super Producers Beat
Release Date: 4/7/10
Price: 1905 yen
Exit Trance producers take on Vocaloid producers on this new Exit Tunes series. Most of the usual suspects are here, though I do wonder who DJ Yajima is.
Exit Trance presents Speed Anime Trance Best 9
Release Date: 4/7/10
Price: 1905 yen
MK has a staggering 7 songs on SATB 9. Meanwhile, Ryu*, B.U.S., Icon, and Dizzi Mystica are nowhere to be found. The first two were probably busy working on their own projects, but I wonder why Icon and Dizzi Mystica were left out?
I’m not sure what the enclosed plastic card is about. It’s not a real credit card, but I do like the alternative artwork.
Piano Dance Best
Artist: The Standard Club
Release Date: 5/19/10
Price: 2400 yen
The Standard Club have apparently changed labels, as this best-of release comes to you courtesy of Sony Records. New songs include a cover of Mariah Carey’s “Hero” and Sarah Brightman’s “Time to Say Goodbye.”
