N.O.-SYO outdoes himself with this spiritual successor to Oreuta. Initially I thought the whole album would be by N.O.-SYO but they wisely added other artists to the mix, including Delaction, Spacey, and NRG Factory. Vocals are performed by Hime Trance mainstays Tsukasa and Kei, and some songs actually have the original artists providing the vocals. It all adds up to one of the most enjoyable trance albums of the year.

It’s worth noting that full versions are now up for sale on various download services, including iTunes Japan. Neither of the Akira Asukara tracks nor the bonus track by Hatsune Miku are available, however. To make matters worse, you have the buy the tracks individually for 200 yen each (3000 yen for all of the tracks), plus they’re low quality and saddled with DRM. You’re much better off buying the CD, as the tracks are given generously long edits so I doubt you’d be missing much.

Hime Trance fans rejoice! I’ll have a mini-review up tomorrow, but suffice it to say that Aneuta gives Hime Trance 4 some serious competition for trance album of the year. With names like N.O.-SYO, Delaction, Tsukasa, and Kei, you can’t go wrong!

Liquid Fictions (Single)

Debut single from the idol unit, Cherry Farm. They’ll be starring in a mockumentary titled Liquid Fiction, to be released on DVD a week later on 7/21. From what I gather it’s supposed to explore the dark world of idol groups, or something like that. The important thing is that Starving Trancer, MK, and Hommarju are reportedly involved in the film’s soundtrack, and the ending theme is by Ryu*. There’s also a special edition of the DVD that includes a CD with remixes. It’s unknown if the bonus CD is the same as this single.

Love House Best Mix

Love House only gets a release once a year, so it’s upsetting that EMI chose to make this year’s edition a nonstop, best-of compilation. There are a handful of tracks new to the series, but for the most part it’s the same old stuff.

Trance Rave “20th Anniversary” Special Best

The 20th release in the ground-breaking Trance Rave Best series also commemorates the 10-year anniversary of the series. A DVD will be included with footage from various Trance Rave parties.

The track list is pretty much all repeats. It would’ve been nice to see a few new tracks, but I can’t deny that the selection is a good approximation of the best of Trance Rave. Any guesses on what the lead track is?

OMG, it’s a Starving Trancer album! Two popular Utatte Mita artists, Rumdarjun and Kettaro, guest star on the album along with Exit Trance mainstays including hideki and Maki. Only 12 tracks and around 46 minutes in total, but it’s Starving Trancer! Dunno if it’s a non-stop mix or if the tracks are full versions.

The duo comprising DJ Ten and Ace Closer have remade one of their songs from last year with a new vocalist. “Kitto…Sayonara” was originally performed by Sara, but the new version is sung by Seira Kagami. And while the original was more of a J-Pop ballad, the remake has an upbeat house sound.

The single is now available for purchase on iTunes, but it will also be on the upcoming “Tokyo wa Yoru no Shichiji” single.
