Kei, Maki and Shihori appear from the usual AKBK stable of vocalists, though the Maki song is the lone repeat. Meanwhile, Usa, Yamadan, Nodoame, Anima, Kouhey and Yuge are sure to please utatte mita fans. I have no clue who BB Storm, KoRo-Girl or Koko on Boku are, though.

It’s labeled as “a new single for Christmas” and the artwork reflects that, but the lyrics don’t. o_O The first track is your usual generic eurodance ballad, while “Rainbow in the Sky” is actually from the 2008 album, Captain Jack Is Back! Odd that they would include a track from that and not from Back to the Dancefloor. Maybe they figured that everyone forgot about it.

I hesitated to pre-order this fearing that it would be another collection of repeats, but this seemingly final list contains only 3 repeats out of 15 total tracks so I’m sold! Even though it’s only 15 tracks, it’s still being billed as a non-stop mix, however.
It’s been far too long since Hime Trance queen, Kei, has been featured on a major release, so I’m glad Akiba Koubou continue to utilize her. Nagisa is also featured, but her sole song is a repeat. :/ For some reason many utaite appear on AKBK release under different pseudonyms, so for those wondering, Maier is actually Yuge, W-Y is Yamadan and No Doubt is Nodoame. There are a number of new, unfamiliar names here, however, which leads me to wonder if they’re also just aliases.

To celebrate, they’ve written a new song called “Baby Boom.” The title alone sounds like it’ll make for prime bubblegum dance. No release date has been set yet, as the song is still in production.
Vocalo Dance

It’s taken a while, but even EMI couldn’t resist jumping on the Vocaloid bandwagon. Their first Vocaloid compilation will focus on Miku dance anthems. The CD will have a full-color picture label and will come in a special sleeve case, but other than that there haven’t been any other bonuses revealed. Right now there are 14-16 tracks planned. Whether they’ll use the originals or have remixes is still up in the air.
Moshi Moshi (Single)

Moshi moshi! The new Smile.dk is finally out on Swedish iTunes, and you can also hear a snippet on their official website. Cecilia sounds lovely, as does Veronica as usual. The best part is that it’s not a simple “Butterfly” retread, which was my biggest fear. No word yet on when it will appear on US iTunes, or if we’ll get any remixes, but 2012 is definitely looking like it’ll be an exciting year for Smile.dk fans.
Jazzin’ for Vocaloid ~covers~

Follow-up to 2008’s Jazzin’ for Ghibli? It’s unknown if this release is a continuation of that series, but what is clear is that this will feature jazz arrangements of Vocaloid songs. Established club singers will be providing the vocals, though it’s not yet known who will be doing the arrangements. The only confirmed song so far is a jazz version of “BadBye.”

The Best of Non-Stop Toho Eurobeat 2011

Avex’s recent penchant for non-stop mixes seems to have infected A-One Records as well, as this release will be a non-stop mix featuring 20 songs from TEB Vol. 1-4. No word yet on the tracklist, but the album will be available at Comiket 81. Those in attendance will also receive a limited 2012 Toho Eurobeat calendar.

V.I.P. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop/Dance Trax VIII

Eighth release in the V.I.P. series. In the past it’s mostly been a showcase for EMI’s artists, but this time they’ve spared no expense in licensing tracks from other labels. I’m still pretty shocked that dance has reworked its way back into the mainstream. Just a few years ago this series was nothing but R&B/Hip-Hop. Also, in the past these albums were not mixed, but the commercial states that this will be a non-stop mix.

Full versions of songs from various FARM R&B House releases. Somehow I’ve been oblivious to the fact that the ZK in Daiki × ZK is and always has been Kazuhisa Hirota, better known to trance fans as Ace Closer. Daiki × ZK have put up lots of preview videos on their official YouTube channel, and I’m absolutely hooked. You can still hear the trance influences in many of the tracks, particularly “Last Friday Night”
Here’s hoping FARM eventually release a Daiki × ZK EP.
