Million Dance 2
Release Date: 12/25/13
Price: 1886 yen
I was wondering when “The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?)” would start appearing on Japanese dance compilations. In addition to Norwegian EDM parodies, the album also has appearances by legendary Japanese trance producers like DJ Kaya and DJ Ozawa.
I Love Party Pop
Release Date: 11/27/13 ? 12/25/13

The second release in Universal’s I Love Party series. Uggh, Universal are the absolute worst when it comes to compilations. Not only are a lot of the songs quite old now, but a few of them already appeared on the first CD!
What’s Up! The Best ~ 10th Anniversary
Release Date: 12/4/13 12/25/13
Price: 2838 yen
Ah, now we know why V.I.P didn’t come out in December like it usually does. It seems that Universal have reserved the month for the 10th anniversary release of their own long-running R&B/Hip-Hop/Dance compilation series, What’s Up! The anniversary release will be a 2-disc set. Disc 1 will focus on dance, including the latest EDM hits. Disc 2 will feature R&B/Hip-Hop from the past decade. Both discs will be non-stop mixes. The set will come in a 2-disc wide case, as well as a cardboard sleeve.
Apparently “Wanna See U Dance” uses the same melody as “Samba de Janeiro.” It’s like a requirement that it appears on every dance compilation.
The EDM ~Erotic Dance Mix~ mixed by DJ Rie
Release Date: 12/25/13
Price: 1900 yen
Another EDM compilation, this time from Victor Japan. I did a double-take when I first saw the title, thinking it was somehow related to E-Rotic, but no such luck. I’m not really sure why it’s an “erotic” dance mix, but it may have something to do with the fact that it’s being mixed by a female DJ, DJ Rie.
Blue Dragon
Artist: Seiryu
Release Date: 12/25/13
Price: 1905 yen
Santa’s bringing a special present this year for Ryu* fans. Back when Plan 8 was released I speculated that the relatively small number of tracks would mean they would release two Ryu* albums this year, and it ended up being true. Seiryu is the alias that Ryu* uses for 190+ BPM tracks, and Blue Dragon will focus on songs he’s released under the alias as well as his other dragon aliases. Like Plan 8, this album will contain 15 tracks, many of which have previously appeared on various Konami music games.
Bonus items include a cell phone strap, signed seal, pass case, poster, and clear file. The official site has samples and more info. There are also retailer-exclusive bonuses available, ranging from can badges to special remix CDs:
