New entry in Star Music’s No.1 Part Mix series, which hasn’t seen a release since 2013. The first release was composed of Power Music licenses and included a few remixes by Japanese artists like ET-Q, DJ Satoshi and U*Hey?. And then they repeated those remixes endlessly for two years. It’s probably not a good sign that the early list has songs from previous entries in the series. Also interesting that DJ Satoshi is going by his full name now.

Thankfully they have a couple of CDs announced for May and June, so it looks like my worries were unfounded, at least for now. Their May release will be the third album in the “Best of 20XX” series mixed by DJ Ryu-1. Usually the series has house covers of top 40 songs, arranged by FARM’s in-house composers.

Update: Early list is out. Thankfully, there are “new” tracks, or at least tracks that haven’t appeared on EDM Anthem before. 30 tracks are planned in all.
The good news is that EDM Anthem is still alive. The bad news is that the next release will be a best mix, even though I Love EDM -Hits & Anthems- already served as one. No early list yet, but hopefully they’ll sprinkle in a few new tracks.

Upcoming tie-in compilation from Universal. The CD will be the official mix of Tokyo Girls Collection, a fashion festival that’s celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Interestingly, Universal have set up a website for DJ Fumi*Yeah, who’s doing the mixing for this CD. Hopefully they’ll continue to collaborate in the future, as I really enjoy Fumi*Yeah’s mixing. It also looks like he squeezed every last bit of music he could onto the CD, as it’s over 81 minutes long. o_O
