The first SATB release of 2014 has just been announced for an April release, which puts the series on track for 3 or fewer releases this year. Bonus items include a strap and a bath poster. Track list details are scarce, though the official site mentions 20 tracks are scheduled.

Shingeki no Cover Anison Kamikyoku Max

Oh, I didn’t expect this to be an Akiba Koubou album. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, then, that the album is almost all repeats. The only new track is the lead song, “Guren no Yumiya.”

A final list has been revealed for the 20th release in the SATB series. Thankfully, Acid=Stone Valley’s return back in SATB 19 wasn’t just temporary, though he still only has one track. Airportexpress has been allocated the most, with five total tracks. Other artists include Hommarju (3 tracks), plazma (3), kinoto (2), Flash back Dominant (2), MK (2), Dizzi Mystica (1), and Icon (1). It also appears that there’ll be some new vocalists/aliases present, like Yuuji and Goneko.
Bonus items include a cell phone strap shaped like an ornament, a poster, and a special item (most likely a clear file) if you send in the included survey card. The official website has also been updated with samples.
For SATB fans, I’ve compiled a list of chart performances of each of the previous 19 titles. The data come from Oricon, which track physical sales data from most, but not all, of Japan’s retailers.

New anime song compilation mixed by DJ Makoto. Final list is mostly the same is the preliminary one, except “Hohoemi no Bakudan” replaces “Namikaze Satellite.” No one seems to have any samples up, nor is the album available digitally, so it’s unclear what musical genresare represented. The description does mention “tension max,” which could point to something fast.
AsoBitCity presents Anime Hit Best mixed by DJ Aliy

A new AKBK-produced anison compilation that’s exclusive to AsoBitCity. I don’t believe there are any new productions on this.

Another anison cover release from Akiba Koubou, though judging by the title this one will have Vocaloid vocals. AKBK have covered most of these tracks in the past, so they’ll probably just put the Vocaloid vocals over the existing productions. Mixed by DJ Mocchi.

Another release in Akiba Koubou’s Anison Cover Mix!! series. I don’t know why, but I have a strange feeling that there’s some sort of theme to this release. Anyway, lots of repeats from AKBK’s back catalogue, but I also spot some new tracks. Most of the new tracks are by Hime Trance queen, Kei.

Anime Nitro*Itaon Mix! Vintage Selection

The Anime Nitro series hasn’t seen a release since 2010. Although previous releases had J-Core artists like kors k and Redalice, this new entry looks like it’ll have repeats from Anison Joshibu and Majokko Disco. The two Evangelion tracks look like they’ll be newly recorded, so I don’t think this will just be straight repeats, but it’s unclear if the other tracks have been remixed.

A new anison compilation from Star Music. Features covers by a variety of DJs, including former Mega Trance producers, Threemason (DJ U*Hey?) and Jack Clavia (DJ Minagawa). Previously available only for rental at Tsutaya, but now available for purchase on other retailers like Tower Records or Amazon Japan. I’ve been keeping an eye out for full versions on iTunes, but nothing so far.

The EDM boom is still in full effect, it seems, as evidenced by this combination of EDM and anime songs. The music is produced by tkrism, with vocals by Emergency. You can find more news on the group on their official website.
There’ll be retailer-exclusive bonuses available, ranging from bonus drama CDs to alternative CD covers.
Also worth noting is the digital release, available on iTunes Japan. The CD version has full versions, as does the iTunes release, but what’s interesting is that the iTunes release also has an exclusive 50 minute non-stop DJ mix! So, you get full versions plus the non-stop for only 1800 yen, which is about 400 yen cheaper than the CD. Now that is how you do a digital release.

Tsutaya-exclusive compilation featuring eurobeat covers of anime themes. There’s a chance that it’ll receive a wide release in the future, as the first one was originally exclusive to Tsutaya, but became widely available about 7 months later.
