A special compilation that will celebrate the works of Go Nagai, famous for creating Devilman, Mazinger Z, Cutie Honey and other mangas. 2012/2013 is the 40th anniversary of the Devilman and Mazinger Z anime series and movies, so this CD will feature Exit Tunes artists reinterpreting popular theme songs from those works. CD Japan’s description specifies “Exit Tunes” artists, so while I would expect something from Exit Trance producers, most of the album will probably be populated by Vocaloid producers. Still, this is the kind of random themed release I miss from the glory days of Exit Trance. Announced bonus items includes a B2 poster and clear file.

J-Pop Cover Densetsu ~Anison Fever Best~

At first I though it looked suspiciously like an AKBK track list, but then I remembered that a lot of the tracks have also appeared on FARM’s own Anime*Dance series, which hasn’t seen a release since early 2010. Maybe they figure people will think these are new tracks.

Oh lord, not this again. Apparently Christmas ga 100-bai Tanoshiku Naru Party Mix is the start of a new series, with Anison and J-Pop releases to follow. Chances are these will just be the same repeats we’ve been subjected to with the Utattemita Anison/J-Pop/Speed releases. No word yet on whether the 100-bai series will be under the Dancemania umbrella, but since Saifam and AKBK have previous ties with Dancemania I’d be surprised if they aren’t included eventually.

It’s been a relatively quite second half of the year for Akiba Koubou, but they’ll be finishing 2012 off with what everyone’s been wanting from them: another anime compilation! The track list for this looks suspiciously close to the Tsutaya-exclusive Anison “Kamikyoku” Cover Mix. It shares many of the same songs in common, but I guess that’s to be expected since AKBK can’t stop repeating “Sousei no Aquarion” -_-

Only 2 SATB releases this year. 🙁 On the plus side, it looks like they’re changing up the release schedule, as the 17th release in the series will come out in January instead of the usual April. One odd thing is that it’s being listed as “Exit Tunes presents” instead of the usual “Exit Trance presents”. Is the Exit Trance brand finally dead? I guess we’ll see…

Exit Trance presents Speed Anime Trance Best 16

16th release in the Speed Anime Trance Best series. In past years there were 3 main releases per year, usually around April, August and November. Quake just announced their late-November and early December releases, and sadly there’s no SATB 17 in sight. The fact that they’ve gone from 20 tracks down to 18 isn’t a good sign, either. Dizzi Mystica gets the most tracks with 6. Booing Day and Hommarju get 3 each, while Icon gets 4. There are also two new artists, alphacist and Flash back Dominant. The lack of MK and Ryu* yet again is a bit discouraging. Maybe they’re skipping even-numbered releases?
Bonus items include a strap and, if you send in the included questionnaire, a 10-track karaoke CD.
