New entry in Star Music’s No.1 Part Mix series, which hasn’t seen a release since 2013. The first release was composed of Power Music licenses and included a few remixes by Japanese artists like ET-Q, DJ Satoshi and U*Hey?. And then they repeated those remixes endlessly for two years. This one is mostly Power Music licenses, plus a few original tracks from Japanese artists like Glutton Boyz and tAisuke. Also interesting that DJ Satoshi is going by his full name now.

Anison Mix Laboratory ~Second Report~

The sequel to Anison Trance Laboratory is out, and despite the previous releases in the series being produced by Ace Closer, Universal have gone in a different direction and hired DJ Kenzi to produce the sequel. Instead of trance, the album now mainly features hardcore and drum ‘n’ bass. Visit the official website for more info.

Flower Garden
Release Date: 4/26/15
Price: 1000 yen
A second release from RTTF Records during this year’s Spring M3-35 event. This one features a flower theme, with tracks evoking a feeling of spring. A lot of variety here, with genres ranging from trance to house. Track 4 is easily my favorite, with its fusion of Japanese instrumentation and a fresh dance beat. No word yet on when/if the album will be available digitally.
Speed Star 2

RTTF Records is back this Spring M3 with a sequel to last year’s Speed Star release. The first was a fantastic mix of hardcore, speed trance, and euro speed, and the sequel looks like it’ll bring more of that speedy sound that mainstream labels no longer cater to. With BPMs ranging from 170 to a staggering 238, and genres like “Dancemania Space,” “Celtic Waltzcore,” and “Astrologic StarShoot,” there’s bound to be plenty of variety. Guest artists include Daniel Seven from Italy and UK hardcore artist, Shoujo.
The album will be available as a two-disc physical release during M3-35, but presumably it will also be made available digitally at a later date.
EDM Extreme

New EDM compilation from Exit Tunes. When I first saw the cover art I thought it would be a spiritual successor to Quake Trance Best, but instead it’ll feature “Japanese EDM” from artists mostly associated with J-Core like Ryu*, kors k, and Redalice. Visit the official website for more info.
DJ Kaori’s Best Pop Hits

The latest release in the hugely popular DJ Kaori’s Mix series, which has sold over 4 million copies over the years since its debut in 2005. This one will focus on pop hits. It was originally scheduled for release in early March under the title “DJ Kaori’s Best Hit Pop,” but has since been delayed to late April.
