Best Mix ~Cheval Edition~ EDM & All Mix Party mixed by *Groovy workshop.
Release Date: 9/24/14
Price: 2200 yen
The latest release in Avex’s ongoing Best Mix series. Features 25 songs, including random licenses from Power Music and FARM Records. That’s right, they used FARM’s cover of “Let It Go” despite the fact that Avex distribute Disney’s music in Japan. I should also add that the whole thing comes in at a little above 50 minutes. 2200 yen for 50 minutes… Mixed by *Groovy workshop.

If you order both albums, you get a special bonus disc featuring additional songs and remixes.
Leaving Leaves

The autumn M3 event took place last weekend, and DJ Hyuji continued his prolific year with the release of two new albums. The first, “Leaving Leaves,” features two original songs and lots of remixes of those songs by frequent RTTF collaborators like Tadashi Yamamoto, Takahiro Aoki, and Luna. As always, a number of styles are represented, including speedcore, EDM, and J-Trance.
Back to Basics
Artist: Overhead Champion
Release Date: 1/14/15
Price: 1852 yen
Update (11/13/14): I got a mention on OHC’s twitter o_O Apparently the collaboration info is incorrect, so the label was probably just talking about his previous collaborations. Also, in another tweet it’s mentioned that there are 20 songs planned.
DJ Kaori’s Best EDM Mix
Release Date: 11/26/14
Price: 2050 yen
The latest release in the hugely popular DJ Kaori’s Mix series, which has sold over 4 million copies over the years since its debut in 2005. This one will focus on EDM hits, though the early list looks really mainstream. You can visit the official website for more info on previous entries.
I Love EDM -Hits & Anthems-
Release Date: 10/8/14
Price: 1850 yen
New dance compilation from Universal and the possible substitute for EDM Anthem IV. As expected, 20 of the 29 tracks are repeats from previous entries in the EDM Anthem series. As expected, it’s part of the I Love Party series.
Big Paaartyy!! In the EDM mixed by DJ Fumi*Yeah!
Release Date: 10/8/14
Price: 2000 yen
New EDM compilation from FARM Records, featuring a mix of Spinnin’ Records songs and in-house covers. I love that it has a 3-minute megamix of 5 different mixes of Booyah.
Sick EDM 02 mixed by C’k
Release Date: 10/1/14
Price: 1852 yen
New EDM release from Dreamusic and the second in the Sick EDM series. Mixed by C’k, who some may remember was a member of the J-Pop group, Shanadoo. Quite a few licenses from Spinnin’ Records, and there are even two songs that already appeared on the first Sick EDM. The last third of the album does feature original Japanese-produced EDM, however, including a collaboration between C’k and Overhead Champion.
Ultra Music Festival Japan 2014
Release Date: 8/20/14
Price: 2200 yen
Official tie-in compilation for the Japanese leg of the Ultra Musical Festival tour that’s taking place today and tomorrow. Featured EDM artists include Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Kaskade, Martin Garrix and Krewella. I think there’s some sort of concerted effort among all of the Japanese labels to cram “Booyah” down our throats.
I believe this isn’t a non-stop mix, as a digital version is available featuring 14/18 songs, and the track lengths are similar to the CD versions. The digital version is a rip-off, too, as you can only purchase the songs individually for 200 yen each.
Ultra Party Anthem mixed by DJ Toshiya
Release Date: 9/24/14
Price: 1667 yen
New dance compilation from the relatively new label that brought you Edge Beat Idol. First-press copies come with a bonus DVD.
The first track is labeled as a “short mega mix,” but it’s unclear if the rest of the album is full versions or a longer continuous mix.
